Summer has officially begun!
We had our first summer field trip on June 10th. We had planned on going to the Air Museum at Hill AFB, but at the last minute we found out that This Is The Place Heritage Park was having free admission and free ICE CREAM!!! How could we pass that up?!?
The line of cars going into the park was really long so we opted to park on a side street and walk in(we later found out there was plenty of parking by the entrance, if we had just waited out the line to get in.) On our walk in we passed all the statues, this one is a pony express monument. Oh and that is Holden, Greta, Blythe, and Clara.
We met Diane, Ryn, Cyrus & Rhys at the gate!
We rode the "train" first.
Oh what fun!
Because it was so crowded we had to get off at each stop of the train ride and then get back in line to ride the train again. Here are Jackie and Blythe waiting in line...
Luckily the first stop on the train ride also had ICE CREAM! Here is our whole gang enjoying the ice cream and shade. We are at the Brigham Young house, it had a huge lawn to relax on, and some yard games for the kids to play.
After we were all done eating we wandered over to see the rest of the pioneer houses, but we got distracted by the kids playground. There was a cute little frontier village, and wooden train that the kids loved!
We did wander over to the petting zoo and the pony rides, but somehow I didn't get any pictures of that. By then the little ones were pretty tired and ready to go home. We didn't even go through any of the pioneer cabins or the rest of the town, (good thing we got in free!)
Holden wore his camouflage hat so he had to try it out and hid in the grass, to see if we could find him.
Thank you Jon Huntsman Sr.!!! We had a great time at the park.
This week we went to the Tracy Aviary however I forgot my camera! So Jackie is in charge of the blog post for that trip!!
