Big Belly

HI! We have been trying to take a picture of me every week of this pregnancy, to see how my belly grows! We usually have to take at least two pictures, one of just me, one of me and Holden, and sometimes one of just Holden. So here is a recent one of Holden and I with our big bellies.

White Rim Trail

Noah and Norm rode the White Rim Trail in May.
They took a lot of great pictures so this is going to be a picture heavy post. Here they are starting off at the top of Mineral Bottom.
Going down Mineral Bottom.
This rock formation was named Cross of the Butte by John Wesley Powell. this picture isn't from the right angle to see the full cross, but you can imagine.
Turk's Head
Here is Norm then Noah standing on Musselman arch.
Leaving Canyonlands National Park
Like I said that was a lot of pictures and those are only the ones I chose from Noah's camera. We have a ton more that Norm took.

Green River Trip

In April Holden, Noah, Norm, and Hadley went on a river trip down the Green River. They took the canoe and an inflatable kayak.
They started at Spring Canyon and took out at Mineral Bottom. This is the road you have to drive down to get to the river at Mineral Bottom. It is very narrow and is a cliff on both sides! Holden kept telling Noah to be careful, very careful.

This is looking down one of those cliffs.

Here are Hadley and Holden ready to set off down the river.
And here is the boat all loaded up.
They stopped to camp at two mile canyon along the way. Holden had a great time rock climbing.

And here Holden is just looking at the river. He found this little spot and just watched the river go by for a few minutes.

Then he took a nap on grandpa's lap.

Here is the best part of any camping trip, Roasting Marshmallows! Whenever we are packing for a camping trip that is the one thing Holden makes sure is packed.

The next morning they loaded the boat back up and headed down to Mineral Bottom. I am not sure how they got all the stuff and people in the boat, but they all made it back and so did all the stuff!
Here is Hadley paddling the kayak, when it was not being used as a gear trailer.
And here are the boys They all had a great time and can't wait to do it again next year.

Easter!

Easter!
Holden had a great time coloring Easter eggs, we wished we could do more! Although the Easter Bunny had a hard time finding places to hide them all.
There were so many eggs that Holden had to use 2 baskets to hold them all!
We had a great Easter dinner at Grandma's house after our afternoon egg hunt.
Holden is still asking if we can color the eggs every time we make "Sizzler eggs". (yes, we do go out to dinner too often. Holden loves to go to Sizzler and eat boiled eggs from the salad bar. So one day when I asked him if he would like eggs for breakfast he said, "yes I want a sizzler egg". it took me a minute to figure out what he was talking about, but now it is just what we call them at our house. And luckily the ones I make are just as good as at Sizzler!)

Noah & Norm's Father Son trip

Noah and his dad went camping in March to the same area as Noah's last trip with Holden. This time they took the 4wheelers though, so they could get a bit further into the wild outdoors.
Here are the two Desert Rats in their natural habitat.
I think this is a view of the Dirty Devil River, and a slot canyon that I don't know the name of.
Here is their camp site.

To answer some questions from the last camping trip post. Yes, Noah's and now Holden's socks are desert sand colored, Noah's car has quite a bit of sand in it, and so does the back yard where he washes the 4wheeler after every trip. Yes, I do have a great time alone when they go camping. I should clean my house or something constructive but I usually just veg out and watch chick flicks!

Windy Day

One very windy day in March Holden decided that he needed to go outside and fly! So he found his Superman Cape and flew all over the back yard.
He had a great time.

Father Son Camping Trip

In February Noah and Holden went on their first Father Son camping trip of the year. They went out on the desert near Hanksville UT.
Here is a view of the Henrie mountains from their camp site.
They slept in the back of Noah's 4Runner, which was much warmer then out in a tent. Holden thought was so much fun! I was a little concerned when I saw this picture of their camp site, but Noah assures me it wasn't a cliff just a small drop off, and they were parked far away from the edge.
Although this picture looking DOWN at the Dirty Devil River didn't give me much confidence in that statement.
They went out hiking and enjoying the beautiful area.
Holden loved his camping trip with his Dad! What a lucky boy he is to have a dad that loves to camp with his little boy.

Like I said this was just the beginning of the Gibson boys camping season of 2009. I am way behind on posting pictures! hopefully I will get the next few trips up before Noah comes home from his current trip!
